Our company with over three decades experience in the field of apiculture offers a rich range of products that are distinguished for their purity and natural origin! Staying devoted to our roots and honoring our ancestors we continue the Gorani family’s longstanding tradition on honey art. Having been taught by the best beekeeping teachers and making their advice action we have succeeded in producing superior quality products. Our respect for nature and our love for human beings make us unique in our genre by making our products the best in the market. Our passion, our daily effort, the intense care of our bevy of bees and the eclectic selection of the best bees places on the Greek soil mean that we cannot hide our anxieties and anticipation for our new harvest .
But how does the beekeeper really start the year? Let’s take a brief overview. The A’ and Z’ in our profession are the apiary. Therefore, our first and foremost concern is to ensure their health throughout the year, and especially in winter, when climatic conditions, and in particular cold, can threaten the apiary’s life. As long as the apiary is healthy and strong it repays the care we gave , in the spring when it becomes very active and each bee turns into an inexhaustible worker. However, beekeeping is a dynamic and interactive process, so we can leave nothing to luck nor be content with apiary. So together with bees we also take action during the spring. First of all, we start with the careful selection of bees places, which are strictly away from dirt and farmland, to ensure the purity of the environment where the bevy of bees fed. After finding the ideal environment we place the pollen traps to start collecting pollen. Also in the spring we take the first steps in collecting the honey of the season and at the same time we develop the royal cells for the purpose of producing royal jelly and at the same time breeding bee queens. Still, if there is time available we proceed to the careful collection of propolis.
So, by focusing on the location where the apiary is fed and closely following all stages of the production process to intervene wherever and whenever necessary, we achieve a decent and proper result. Proof of this are our long-term customers who have been favoring our products for over thirty years and trust us knowing that we have always been in the apiary driven by the quality and not the quantity of our products. Indeed, our confidence and assuredness in the superiority of our products have led us even further to take a decisive step and promote our products abroad. We was participated and keep participating in international agricultural product fairs, we exchanged opinions on proper beekeeping techniques, we got to know the products and production criteria of other countries for primary sector goods , but we primarily advertised Greek products.
Combining new entrepreneurship with the dedication to traditional principles and the secrets of successful traditional beekeeping as inherited from our grandparents, our company has the potential to offer a variety of products from which the public consumer can choose. So, depending on everyone’s preferences Melopolio has all kinds of honey from all over Greece as well as a host of other fine and raw apiculture products that provide health, wellness and longevity. Specifically, thyme honey, fir honey (vanilla, red and black) are available from Peloponnese, Thessaly and Western Greece, flowering variety from all over Greece, heather honey from various island regions, Northern and Western Greece and Epirus, honey from the Peloponnese and Epirus regions, orange honey from the western Greece and Argolida, eucalyptus honey from Peloponnese region, acacia honey is produced from the Kozani region, carob honey from Peloponnese and Crete areas, chestnut honey from northern Greece and Arcadia, cotton honey from Thessaly and northern Greece, pine honey from Halkidiki, Evoia and Tripoli areas, osfaka honey and honey from Tzero / Dendro from areas all over Greece and finally sunflower honey from areas of Northern Greece. Our wide range of honey does not lack honeycomb honey and honey with nuts. However, besides pure bee products, our company has other holistic nutrition products such as various herbs, various nuts (almond, walnut, pistachio), spoon sweets, balsamic oil and more. Finally, some of our most popular products are our derivative wine, raki, tsipouro and molasses.
As you have seen, our company has a wide variety of products and certainly everyone chooses the honey of his choice according to his preferences. If, however, someone wants to try all the types of honey we have and to switch between flavors, our company recommends consuming all kinds of honey over time and urges you to consume one specific type of honey per month. So there is no better way to start your year than to consume fir honey which is especially helpful for those with stomach upset or pharyngeal problems. In the second month of the year we consume a pleasant blend of fir and heather honey. In the third month we eat chestnut honey and the fourth month , spring heather honey . Our proposal for May is carob honey and correspondingly for June a powerful blend of fir and arbutus honey. As we are in the heart of summer the seventh month is ideal for eating thyme honey and for the eighth month we would recommend the special orange honey. We welcome autumn and month of September with winter heather and as the weather freezes in October it would be good to consume thyme honey combined with season nuts. Since the time is nearing the end of November, we would recommend eating pine or eucalyptus honey while we would say goodbye to the old time by eating cotton honey.
